Bagging a fashion bargain for charity
T-shirts by designers Elusiv and Lonely Hearts Club and a silk dress by Love Lies Bleeding are three of the items being auctioned on sellmefree.co.nz this month in a bid to raise money for rescue helicopter services throughout New Zealand. The charity auction runs until Monday, September 24 and allows bidders to vie for high quality garments from six of New Zealand's leading fashion designers. The rescue helicopter service relies on corporate sponsorship and public donations, so the winning bids will help keep the helicopters in the air. General Manager of sellmefree, Josh Borthwick said: "This is a fantastic opportunity to promote some of New Zealand's emerging and established fashion designers as well as support a very worthwhile cause." The rescue helicopter service operates 24/7, and has made a life or death difference for many New Zealanders.
Clothes retailer restores former Christmas Barn
BETHLEHEM TWP. | A Danish clothing retailer will open a discount outlet this fall at the former Christmas Barn on Easton Avenue, company officials announced Tuesday. Blue Willi's will liquidate the warehouse excess of its all-natural clothing line over a three-month period and then vacate the landmark building, company consultant Tyrone Charles said. The store will open Sept. 13 to sell 5,000 to 7,000 items in the newer of the two red barns, company officials said. The inventory will be replenished every few days, company President Carlos Martin said. Blue Willi's sells a core product line of all-natural items made from cotton, wool, silk and linen. Its collection also includes multiple shades of indigo-dyed knitwear. "We cater to a middle-age demographic (with) comfortable designs, comfortable natural fibers," Martin said.
